**ATTENTION DOG OWNERS**
Beginning January 1, 2011 all New York State municipalities are required by New York State law to issue your original dog license as well as license renewals. The licensing fee is slightly higher due to the local administration of the dog licensing program. All New York State dog tags will be replaced with Village of Scarsdale tags at the time of renewal.
New York State law requires that dogs over four months
of age be licensed and your dog must receive a rabies vaccine before it is licensed. Proof of rabies vaccination must be provided at the time of licensure or renewal. To qualify for the lower spayed/neutered fee, the owner must also present proof from the veterinarian that the procedure was done.
Please contact the Village Clerk’s Office
for more information about your dog’s license and fees.
Your dog’s license must be renewed annually.
The dog licensing law helps you if your dog wanders away and can be tracked by its license tag and returned to you.
Your dog must be licensed if you reside in New York State.
