General Parking Permit Information
Parking permits are sold by the Village Clerks Office on a rolling basis beginning June 1 of every year. Parking Permits are valid July 1 - June 30. Preference given to Village of Scarsdale residents and merchants during the first 2-3 weeks of sales in June. All permits except for Motorcycle/Scooter Permits, may be shared by two vehicles, however only one vehicle may utilize said permit at a time.
Commencing with the sale of the Semi-Annual Freightway and Merchant Parking Permits on December 1, 2017, Village parking permits will not be issued to individuals with outstanding parking tickets. Eligibility will be restored once the outstanding tickets are paid in full. Please contact the Court Clerk’s office at 914-722-1120 with any questions regarding any outstanding parking tickets that you may have.
Please be advised that having a permit does not guarantee a parking space.
These permits may be issued for up to two (2) weeks only to current parking permit holders who need to park a vehicle that is not registered on his/her permit for a temporary period while the registered vehicle is unavailable. A parking permit holder cannot park any vehicle unless it has been registered with the Clerk’s office. All applicants for temporary permits must apply in person to the Village Clerks Office. There is a $5.00 fee for a temporary parking permit.
Electric Vehicle ParkingAs of October 31, 2018, the Village of Scarsdale is pleased to provide an electric vehicle car charger at its Freightway Garage Facility. The use of the charger is limited to Freightway Garage Permit Holders Monday - Friday and it's use is included with a valid permit. The charger is open to the general public on weekends.
The device was provided to the Village through an existing contractual obligation with ProPark America, and the installation was funded in part by the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation.
