Scarsdale Police Department

The Scarsdale Police Department is a state and nationally accredited police department proudly serving since 1909.

Chief of Police, Andrew A. Matturro has over 35 years of law enforcement experience.  He became chief in 2015.

The department has four sections: Administrative, Patrol, Investigation and Support. Seventy-one employees work for the department: 45 sworn police officers, six civilian, and 20 part-timers, such as school crossing guards and parking enforcement officers.

Police Reform and Reinvention Committee Report

Following a process involving members of the Scarsdale Community, representatives of the justice system, and community-based organizations, The Scarsdale Police Reform and Reinvention Committee issued its Final Report in March 2021, which was also adopted by the Village Board and filed with the State of New York.
