 **EXEMPTION APPLICATIONS ARE DUE ON OR BEFORE MAY 1 ST** 

State and local laws provide for the partial exemption of real estate taxes in certain categories to qualifying individuals only. The Assessor's Office has created a brief Property Tax Exemption Presentation currently available to qualifying village residents. Additional information regarding these exemptions can be found below. Information provided herein is believed to be accurate, but is not warranted. Please note: The filing period for all exemption applications in any year is always January 2 through May 1.


**IMPORTANT CHANGES FOR SENIOR CITIZENS AND PERSONS  

   WITH DISABILITIES** 


The Town/Village of Scarsdale passed a local law February 14, 2023  increasing the real property tax exemption income limits for senior citizens and disabled persons from $37,399 to $58,399, based on a sliding scale RP-467 Sliding Scale.  For more information here is a Department of Taxation and Finance Senior Exemption Publication

Property owners 65 years of age or older by December 31, 2023, who have owned their primary residence for at least twelve consecutive months as of May 1, 2023, MAY be eligible for this exemption. ALL sources of gross income, NOT adjusted gross income  Income Worksheet Checklist are considered. 

Please submit a copy of the initial or renewal application RP-467 Application and Instructions   along with proof of age and 2022 income to:  Village of Scarsdale, Assessor’s Office, 1001 Post Rd, Scarsdale, NY, 10583, via mail or in-person, as soon as possible but NO LATER THAN MAY 1, 2023.
