On February 28, 2023, the Village Board adopted a local law creating Article II of Chapter 244 of the Village Code: Illegal Discharges, Activities and Connections to the Sanitary Sewer System. The purpose of this code change is to to reduce inflow and infiltration of clean waters into the system as well as reduce sewage exfiltration into the natural waterways of the Village.
Effective October 1, 2023, the Building Department will be requiring Discharge Compliance Certificates upon any sale, transfer, or conveyance of any property within the Village. Discharge Compliance Certificates are also required for any substantial construction projects costing over $100,000. See our program documents below for more information.
