The Village of Scarsdale has released a Request for Proposals (RFP) for the redevelopment of the Freightway Site (“Site”). Redevelopment of the Freightway Site represents a significant opportunity to enhance connectivity within and throughout the Village Center and introduce new uses that are consistent with the seven key principles prioritized in the Village’s 2018 Freightway Site Visioning Study.
The Freightway Site includes nine tax parcels that encompass approximately 2.43 acres within the Village of Scarsdale and approximately 0.1 acre located within the Town of Eastchester. To complement the potential redevelopment of the site, the Village is also making available approximately 0.84 acres over the railroad tracks from the Popham Road Bridge south to the Village border with the Town of Eastchester (“air rights”) and a 0.51 acre site located on Scarsdale Avenue that is currently improved with approximately 77 striped parking spaces.
The RFP and associated supporting documents regarding the RFP are available here.
Proposals from Developers are due to the Village by September 16, 2019. The Village Board of Trustees will schedule a public meeting in November 2019, inviting residents to view presentations of the proposed design concepts. The Board of Trustees encourages interested residents, property owners, merchants and other stakeholders to visit the Freightway Redevelopment Site link here for project updates.
