Dear Village of Scarsdale Parking Users:
The Village of Scarsdale’s road resurfacing contractor, PCI Industries, is scheduled to resurface Depot Place, Garth Road and Freighway including the alleyway adjacent to the Freightway Parking Garage beginning on or around May 14, 2018, weather permitting. Some pavement preparation work may take place ahead of the paving crew during normal workdays during the week of May 7th. Rain dates for the operation are scheduled for the next available dry weather day. The resurfacing for all three roads will take place at night between the hours of 7:00PM and 5:00AM as to minimize the disturbance to local merchants, commuters and pedestrians. The Village anticipates one night to prepare and two nights to resurface. Work dates and hours will be posted on temporary “No Parking” signs installed along each road and adjacent roads. Please pay attention to these notices and adhere to the regulations which are enforceable by the Village of Scarsdale Police Department. The Village has already installed two message boards on either side of Popham Road near Garth Road and Depot Place to provide advanced notice.
During paving operation, sections of each road will be closed or limited to traffic, including adjacent off street parking stalls. Village staff will be onsite during the paving operation to assist the contractor with traffic and parking control operations. Preparation work involves the adjustment of manhole and road drain castings along with the cold milling or removal of the existing top layer of asphalt along the curb line in select areas to profile the roadway. The roadways will be paved the day after being cold milled, weather permitting.
If there are any changes to the above-mentioned paving schedule, you will be further notified either personally, or through a written memorandum from the Engineering Department. The aforementioned “No Parking” signs will also be revised accordingly. Thank you in advance for your cooperation during the performance of these roadway improvements and we appreciate your patience. If you have any questions regarding the work schedule or resurfacing program, please contact the Engineering Department at (914) 722-1106 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
