Freightway Study Update

The first Freightway Public Workshop was held on June 12, 2017. BFJ Planning of NYC presented to over 50 attendees, including residents, merchants, and others. The event was broadcast live on cable and streamed live online. Video is available on-demand under the “Other” tab, and will be rebroadcast on Verizon Channel 43 and Cablevision/Altice 75. Library Project Fundraising Update

Thanks to donations from more than 130 households and two extraordinary $1M challenge grants, which effectively double the value of donations made during the challenge period, over $5M is now committed toward the Library's $7.5M fundraising goal! While very much “on track,” the Library Campaign Committee remains active in soliciting new gifts and pledges to enable construction of the Library Addition and Renovation project to begin on-time in the first half of 2018.

Road Resurfacing Prioritization

The Village of Scarsdale maintains over 90 centerline miles of roadway. Our Pavement Management System (PVMS), which is based on a village-wide roadway physical condition survey, is important in setting annual road resurfacing priorities. The last roadway condition survey was completed in 2009 and it needs to be updated. The Village Board approved a contract last night with MHM Associates for a 2017 update to the PVMS. Study of Assessor's Office

Management Partners, Inc., will undertake a study of the Assessor's Office. The project scope includes resident and staff interviews, discussions with regulatory entities and peer communities, and other tasks. The forward-looking final report will include recommendations for ensuring ethical, efficient service delivery, as well as suggested practices for achieving fair and equitable property tax distribution. We look forward to seeing you at one or more of our special events planned over the next few weeks, such as the Bike and Blade Night in the downtown streets of the Village on Saturday, June 17^th, from 6pm – 9pm, Party in the Park on Friday, June 23^rd, from 6pm – 8pm in Chase Park, and our Annual Fireworks Spectacular at the Scarsdale Municipal Pool Complex on Thursday, June 29^th, at 9:15pm.
